Identifying a Roof Leak
At Peché Roofing Specialists, our primary concern is to secure your first line of defence in your home when it comes to the elements. Water, in whatever form, (rain, or hail), can penetrate any weaknesses in your roofing system. It is our goal to not only install roofs that will stand up to the wear and tear that the weather brings year after year, but to also assist when water intrusions occur.
Many roof leaks are simple to repair but determining the source of the leak is often more difficult. If you identify a drip in your ceiling, you will often assume that the leak originates above that point, but a leak can travel down rafters or can even be an accumulation of condensation. It is also very common for plumbing leaks to be misidentified as roof leaks.
If you are familiar with the potential causes of roof leaks, then you will be able to identify the potential causes of the leaks through a process of elimination. If not, you can always contact Peché Roofing Specialists.
Here are a few sources of rook leaks:
- Missing or cracked roof tiles
- Damaged flashing
- Wind driven rain
- Build up of debris which can trap moisture
- Damaged roof ridges
